Principal Scientist - Chemistry

Dr. Mohammad Al-Amin is an accomplished organic and medicinal chemist with more than a decade of multidisciplinary research experience spanning academia and the biotechnology industry. He earned his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Tokushima, Japan, as a prestigious MEXT Scholar, and completed his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Organic Chemistry at Jahangirnagar University, where he graduated as a Gold Medalist. He conducted postdoctoral research at Hokkaido University, the University of California, Irvine, and the University of Delaware, with a focus on synthetic organic, natural products, organometallic, and medicinal chemistry.

Most recently, Dr. Al-Amin served as a Senior Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry at Zentalis Pharmaceuticals, where he played a pivotal role in the design, synthesis, purification, and characterization of complex small molecules to support multiple oncology drug discovery programs from hit identification through lead optimization and development candidate nomination. He previously held a Senior Chemist role at Adesis, Inc., supporting preclinical and clinical programs through complex multistep synthesis, late-stage functionalization, and the scalable preparation of high-purity compounds. He has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications and is an inventor on five patents.

Dr. Al-Amin’s research focuses on the design and synthesis of innovative bioactive molecules with translational applications in regenerative medicine and wellness therapeutics, with the goal of improving health and quality of life.
